Environmental Compliance Advisor provides advice and guidance related to regulatory and legislative interpretation, monitors legislative and regulatory atmosphere for potential changes impacting operations, leads efforts to quantify impacts of legislative and regulatory changes, and reviews and recommends improvements to internal process to ensure the Company’s compliance with state and federal laws, regulation, and technical guidance.
Serve as a steward of the CNX Mission and Core Values (Responsibility, Ownership, and Excellence).
Serve as a resource for regulatory interpretation.
Be familiar with and communicate the requirements of current applicable environmental requirements.
Plan and conduct periodic reviews of systems, processes, records, and activities related to environmental aspects (air, water, waste) to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Communicate observations, conditions, and environmental status to respective operational departments and follow up on remedial actions and future prevention protocol; coach teams in applying controls and mitigations.
Provide regulatory support to OE Compliance Leads for issue management/resolution with state and federal agencies.
Assist with development of training for environmental aspects.
Support the VP of Environmental Strategy during upset conditions (including potential for) and work with various external stakeholders, as needed, for situational response.
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, environmental policy, engineering, or related field.
4-8 years of related work experience in environmental/compliance/permitting preferred.
Experience working with regulatory agencies.
Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills.
Must have broad knowledge of environmental risk factors and their implications.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple projects/phases while observing high-quality standards.
Familiarity/experience with Environmental Management Systems, Quality Management Systems, or equivalent.
Willingness to accept occasional travel to regional operating areas.
