UT Health East Texas is seeking a Biomed Equipment Tec to join their team in Jacksonville, TX.
A Biomed Specialist, also known as BioMed Equipment Technician (BMET), performs and documents planned maintenance and repair of medical diagnostic imaging equipment and associated systems under the supervision from service management to perform the required duties. The Specialist must possess and demonstrate a highly advanced knowledge and ability to use the required test equipment and have the required electronic and mechanical knowledge and skills. The Specialist must have the ability to interpret and effectively utilize service manuals, schematics and other applicable service information required to perform and document planned maintenance and repair of the diagnostic imaging equipment and systems. The Specialist must demonstrate advanced organizational skills as well as effective communications, mentor developing technical staff, interpersonal and customer relations skills as applied to interactions with company personnel and Clinical staff in accordance with established Renovo operational and personnel policies and procedures.
DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains and repairs a variety of biomedical and related equipment under Biomedical Services Supervisor including, but not limited to: x-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, High End Imaging, General x-ray equipment
Effectively communicates with all levels of staff in client facilities to perform routine services and minor repairs
Be able to read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams. Exercise good system troubleshooting skills
Performs Quality Assurance and Safety tests
Creates the necessary records to document preventative maintenance, quality assurance, safety tests, upgrades and repairs
Consistently performs first echelon service with close supervision on most devices under Clinical Engineering responsibility
May be required to participate in rotational call and reasonable travel
Perform other duties as assigned and capable in scope of position
AAS degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field or equivalent experience (also to include military, or OEM)
2-3 years experience strongly preferred
Ability to use a variety of very delicate to heavy duty tools and instruments
Ability to recognize color codes
