Job Summary Employees in this class apply professional civil engineering knowledge and skills to perform engineering work in the design, investigation, and construction of one or more of the following: water/wastewater, streets, transportation, or other infrastructure projects.  Work includes the preparation of plans and specifications and project management on assigned projects.  Assignments require the application of independent judgment and initiative to the design and/or review of construction projects.  An administrative superior assigns work in terms of general instructions.  Work is spot-checked and reviewed for accuracy and the nature and propriety of final results.
