eBay Inc. has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 at our San Jose, CA office. Job duties include: Lead & participate in des & implementation of analytics SW infrastructure to align w/ vision & biz reqs of eBay Platform Infrastructure. Des, dev, & implement open source distributed comp platform tech for Hadoop related projects. Provide tech consultancy to engineers on Hadoop Map Reduce and Spark dev. Drive SW improvements & dev of features for open source tech for patent filing & open source community contributions. Des & implement tech solutions to support ecosystem of Analytics Infrastructure. Work w/ eng teams to des/dev innovative tech SW solutions that are robust, scalable, & efficient. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Position requires Master’s deg, or foreign equiv, in Applied CS, Eng, or closely rel quantitative discipline plus 3 yrs exp in job offered or in the field of SW/database eng or program analysis. Employer will accept Bachelor’s deg, or foreign equiv, in Applied CS, Eng, or closely rel quantitative discipline plus 5 yrs exp in job offered or in the field of SW/database eng or program analysis. Must have exp w/ Linux, Hadoop, Spark, Map Reduce, Hive, Python, Bash, SQL, HBase, Hadoop Network Architecture. Any suitable combo of ed, training & exp is acceptable. Salary: $ 164,871.00 per annum.
