We are seeking a talented Planner with a focus or interest in all modes of transportation for our Detroit, MI office. This small office offers a fast-paced but flexible work environment working with cities, counties, MPO’s and transit agencies. Our portfolio includes downtown and neighborhood plans, city-wide thoroughfare plans, corridor plans, PEL and NEPA studies, complete street designs, transit and TOD, non-motorized projects, parking studies, and more.
Skills Required – the candidate will work in small teams and on a variety of projects. Key expectations:
Demonstrated ability to manage several projects simultaneously including budget oversight, team leadership, document development, and attentive client communications.
Exemplary writing and organization skills producing high-quality documents
Ability to collaborate in a team environment and effectively meet deadlines.
Research, maps and graphics for plans and presentations.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel.
Experience with Synchro, Travel Demand Models and other transportation software is a bonus
Experience with Adobe products including InDesign, Illustrator, Google Sketch-Up, and similar software is preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in transportation planning or engineering with an emphasis on planning, city & regional planning, and similar programs.
Minimum 2 years of experience.
