This positionis a highly skilled, end to end solutions provider and change agent that manages the project life-cycle of gas compressor package orders. This role is responsible for contributing to the customer solutions process which includes: interpreting project requirements, developing compressor designs, and launching the order fulfillment process. This position needs to have an in-depth understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems as it relates to compression and natural gas industry applications.
Acts as the project engineer and project manager for new orders with minimal guidance of the Engineering Manager. Organizes the design, material procurement, and production of all units in coordination with cross-functional leadership.
Acts as the primary subject matter expert as it relates to electrical package designs, panel design and operation, VFD design and service, and all electrical related product designs and service.
Creates and maintains databases for drawings, material specifications, and Bills of Material.
Completes the sizing, design and re-design efforts for compressor packages in coordination with engineering design firms, clients, and engineering management.
Collaborates with Manufacturing and Supply Chain (including outside suppliers) to generate designs and Bill of Materials.
Assists Supply Chain with supplier selection, and component selection as needed.
Assists with warranty investigations and collaborates with suppliers/customers as needed.
Performs in-field diagnostics with customers/suppliers as needed.
Displays willingness to listen to all customers, identify issues, develop engineered solutions, and deliver a seamless package with thorough follow-up to complete the customer experience process.
Displays willingness to strengthen and grow the customer focused culture and contribute to sales visits as needed.
Possesses deep electrical and instrumentation knowledge as it applies to compression and other industrial applications, specifically VFDs, PLCs, motors, heat trace, etc. Is comfortable producing electrical wiring schematics and other electrical engineering information, as well as field trouble-shooting electrical components.
Understands and ensures compliance with appropriate electrical area classifications
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Utilize all required personal protective gear as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (electrical preferred) with 5+ years of experience within the Natural Gas Compression industry or 5+ years of design experience in a related industry
Experience in engineering and applying electrical components, specifically VFDs, PLCs, motors, heat trace, etc. (Gensets is a plus).
Exceptional writing skills and ability to organize technical material into comprehensive reports and interpret technical details.
Experience with project design/planning, material specifications, and State and Federal codes during the development of gas compression packages (ISO 13631, ASME, Sec VIII, Div 1, ANSI 16.5, ASME B31.3, OSHA, NACE, NEMA, NEC, etc.) and process equipment in conjunction with its codes and standards (Process Equipment is a plus)
Experience with business ERP systems
Experience with Ariel sizing program, designing, and drawing gas compressor packages, or working in an applications/order management role within the natural gas compression industry
Prefer Solidworks and AutoCad experience
Prefer Sales and Operations Planning experience
Prefer Fabrication and Field Services experience
