The Sales Representative is responsible for selling Chem-Trend products within the Composites industry and Midwest territory using the value added selling techniques to accomplish pre-established sales goals. This position will be responsible for achieving growth of business within the territory every year by maintaining and expanding current business, securing new business, adjusting prices based on market conditions, and identifying new markets for our Technology.
This position will work remote, within the Midwest territory.
Assist customers in their efforts to be cost-effective, using effective value added selling techniques to outline the benefits of our products.
Grow market share in assigned territory; Meet or exceed annual territory budgeted forecast.
Meet or exceed division’s average selling prices in the core product lines to maintain profitability levels.
Identify and communicate industry trends, territory activities, competitive activity, and customer requirements to ensure that Chem-Trend can meet or exceed expectations within the industry segment and other new markets. Prepare timely written and verbal reports.
Assure that all customer accounts are current, developing strategies with customers to ensure timely payments, as required.
Maintain excellent working relationships with customers through regular contact with decision-makers, corporate management, and influential personnel at any level. Maintain Chem-Trend’s image of supporting the product after the sale through excellent customer service.
Sell all assigned product lines to customers to secure market place position. Utilize purchase agreements and long-term contracts to prevent competitors from selling low margin products and placing profitable products at risk. Diffuse competitive threats at key accounts with a sense of urgency.
Use product selection criteria to ensure the best product or technology is offered to customers to provide customer satisfaction and profitability.
Develop and present proposals to customers to promote the “Chem-Trend Advantage.”
Conduct training for customers to ensure proper application of products by operators.
Provide technical assistance to customers and troubleshoot product and process issues.
Conduct product trials for new product developments and provide feedback to the technical staff and the laboratory.
Effectively utilize the company’s resources in managing the day-to-day operation of the territory.
Handle all products in accordance with environmental regulations.

Technical Aptitude: Knowledge of the composites process, manufacturing processes, markets, and applications.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or related field (preferred); or equivalent experience in supervision, business practices, and distribution management.
3+ years of experience in distribution management.
3+ years of experience in industrial sales, preferred.
Previous experience with Contact Database Software, required; SAP experience, a plus.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Operate a computer and other office machinery or equipment.
Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets or office machinery.
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly, such as safety glasses, safety shoes, highly visible vest, and gloves, part or most of the day.
