MERMEC Inc. is a subsidiary of MerMec Group, an international industry leader in real-time, high speed railway inspection systems and services. We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Maintenance Manager to join our team to support the growth of our North America company. In this capacity, the Maintenance Manager will be mainly responsible to provide high-quality maintenance and support services to MERMEC’s ATIP car, ensuring that all equipment and systems on-board perform safely and efficiently to satisfy the Customer requirements. The Maintenance Manager position will directly report to the VP of Operations and be part of the ATIP Team.
The Maintenance Manager shall be responsible to:
Ensure that all work to be undertaken shall be executed safely, identifying and providing corrective actions aimed at preserving a safe work environment;
Interface with the customer to provide updates and attend meetings with the customer;
Maintain rolling-stock and diagnostic systems at agreed level of performance, reliability and availability of the equipment;
Manage the planning and implementation of maintenance on rolling stock and diagnostic systems;
Manage the interface with Program Manager to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure rolling stock and diagnostic systems are available to meet planned measurements and customer requirements;
Manage all the logistic issues related to the service activities (i.e. shipping of materials, responsibility of tools and spare parts stocks);
Provide local support for MERMEC’s systems specialists, on site or remotely;
Support the customer in the correct use of the supplied products;
Perform the maintenance activities, directly or with the support of other technicians as may be applicable to special activities and complexity;
Management of spare parts for maintenance of the Diagnostic Vehicle;
Management of principal sub-suppliers for maintenance scheduled activities or after failures;
Provide logistic support to MERMEC’s specialists when on site or remotely addressing systems issues.
The Maintenance Manager’s main activities will be focusing on:
Periodical inspection of vehicles, diagnostic systems and preventive maintenance or repair required activities
Management of spare parts
Immediate intervention following failures of vehicle or diagnostic systems
Troubleshooting/Fault Finding activities and resolution action
Tracking of planned maintenance activities and execution, with the support of other technicians, when necessary
Tracking of corrective maintenance activities and execution, with the support of other technicians, when necessary
Periodical Calibration & Tuning, according to the customer requirements
Ordinary maintenance activities, according to the customer requirements
Report against the progress of any rolling stock and diagnostic systems unexpected required activity
Support trained and authorized technicians in the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components
Support trained and authorized technicians in major modification on traction and rolling stock components
Support reliability technicians while addressing improvements to rolling stock assets
Attend and provide technical support with failures in service
Keep record system up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.
As required, report against the progress of rolling stock and diagnostic systems maintenance programs
Provide other regular reports, including monthly department reports in line with pre-determined requirements set by the customer and company (KPI , failure rate, availability, etc..)
Ensure all programs comply with the Customer Safety Management System
Documenting all maintenance, repairs, inventory, etc.
Ability to read and understanding electrical and mechanical drawings and diagrams
Ability and knowledge in the use of basic tools for electrical and mechanical measuring and maintenance
Basic knowledge of main vehicle systems (low/high voltage system, pneumatic system, cooling system, and HVAC system)
Maintenance operation of roof mounted and underframe installed equipment
Maintenance of cooling pipeline, water pipeline and air pipeline
Maintenance of cabling and interconnections between equipment, including power supply
Ability to prepare and organize for planned and unplanned maintenance activities
Ability to comprehend, read and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications
Good housekeeping of the worksite, materials and equipment
Strictly adhere to health, safety, environmental & quality practices in the workplace as per MERMEC directives and Customer requirements
