We are accepting applications for the position of Senior Civil Engineer. The current Senior Civil Engineer vacancy is the Construction section and is a key member of the Engineering Design and Construction Division within the City’s Public Works Department. The Senior Civil Engineer supervises the design and delivery of major capital improvement projects, including the preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for complicated City projects and the construction management of land development projects related to streets, sewers, water systems, storm drains, traffic or related public works projects.
The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated 1) experience managing multiple projects while remaining conscientious of schedules and budgets, 2) the ability to be team-oriented and work both cooperatively and collaboratively, 3) engineering design experience in a municipal or county public works department or special purpose district, 4) construction experience in a civil engineering field, 5) excellent oral and written communication skills, and 6) a dynamic leadership ability to effectively direct the work of staff and contractors.
Salary and Benefits
The City offers a total compensation package that includes both a generous salary plus excellent benefit! Salary: $94,938.48 - $127,219.04 Annually DOQ.
A combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field and four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes some project management experience, and one year in a lead capacity, preferably with a public agency. Possession of a valid California driver license is required.
Certificates: Must possess a State of California Civil Engineering registration at time of application.
