Overview: This position will provide engineering and project management support for two new significant Valley Water (District) master plans, one for Valley Water’s Water Treatment Plants and one for its Distribution System. This individual will be responsible for assisting in developing the master plan documents and for subsequently helping to oversee the implementation of capital improvements recommended in the master plans. The master plans will evaluate potential vulnerabilities, efficiencies, resiliency, and the need for additional future capacity for Valley Water’s treatment plants and raw and treated water distribution system. The plans will identify capital or operations solutions and projects to address needs and provide a detailed implementation plan for recommended solutions.
The Associate Civil Engineer will support the development and implementation of the two master plans, and will be responsible for providing project management support through planning, design and construction of master plan recommendations including oversight of consultant services; completing specialized engineering studies, gathering and analyzing data, and hydraulic modeling; supporting engagement with internal and external stakeholders including Valley Water’s Board of Directors and local and regional agencies; and preparing or overseeing preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare or oversee preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
