The Department of Plant and Microbial Biology in the College of Natural Resources at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in plant biochemistry/physiology/metabolomics with an expected start date of July 1, 2020.
We seek an individual who will develop an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program in plant biochemistry, physiology, and/or metabolomics addressing fundamental questions in any area of the field including, but not limited to: photosynthesis, plant primary metabolism, plant responses and adaptations to the environment and climate change, plant natural product biosynthesis, metabolomics of plant-microbiome interactions, nitrogen fixation, bioremediation, and whole-plant physiology. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative group of faculty whose research spans diverse areas of biology including plant and microbial photosynthesis, plant cell biology and development, plant genetics and genomics, plant-microbe interactions, microbial metabolomics, applied microbiology, fungal biology, algal biology, and virology in the Department of Plant & Microbial Biology (http://pmb.berkeley.edu/), with opportunities for interactions with colleagues at the Innovative Genomics Institute (https://innovativegenomics.org/), Energy

Basic Qualifications (required at the time of application):
All applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree) at the time of application.
The ideal candidate will have postdoctoral experience, a publication record in plant biochemistry, physiology, and/or metabolomics, the ability to contribute to instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels in plant biochemistry, physiology, and/or metabolomics and other broader fields, and the ability to contribute to our commitment to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education.
