Wood’s Salt Lake City office is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to support our growing Environmental Branch in South Jordan, Utah.
Our office is a leading engineering consulting business in Utah, providing multi - disciplinary solutions covering all aspects of environmental consulting services, geotechnical engineering, infrastructure design and management, construction services, materials testing / engineering and water resources services.
The position will involve project management and coordination and implementation of project work and field activities associated with environmental projects including regulatory compliance, permitting, environmental site assessments and remediation in the industrial / commercial, government, mining, oil and gas and energy sectors. Experience with hazardous waste management, IH surveys, underground storage tank permanent closures and corrective actions and Phase I, Phase II and Remedial Investigations are a must. This position offers the opportunity to work with a large and diverse team of engineers and scientists to address complex environmental challenges executing the following roles / responsibilities:
Directs and supervises technical assignments (both field and office) and manages projects or specific elements of projects
Provide technical review for projects to comply with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications
Scheduling, directing, and supervising field programs and subcontractors
Perform various field work including drilling, sampling, supervision, remediation activities etc.
Performs business development and marketing activities to capture new clients for Wood
Prepare proposals and assists in preparation of large - scale proposals
Will travel to project sites primarily in Utah and west and mountain regions - Approximately 10% overnight travel
Skills / Qualifications
BA / BS Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental, or Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree desirable
PG or PE (Utah) desired
8 to 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting is preferred
Strong background providing environmental consulting services to clients in the industrial / commercial, mining, energy, oil and gas, and government sectors
Demonstrated scientific or engineering expertise in the area of environmental regulations, with an emphasis on multimedia (air, water, and waste) environmental management regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with field investigations associated with environmental site assessments, site remediation, field management, sampling etc.
Experience with environmental compliance hazardous waste management, underground storage tank permanent closures and corrective actions and Phase I, Phase II and Remedial Investigations
Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team and achieve team objectives
Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the use of standard software packages including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong communication and technical writing skills are necessary
Ability and willingness to travel to project sites primarily in Utah and west and mountain regions. Approximately 10% overnight travel
Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
