The purpose of this position is to manage and develop engineering direct report staff in our Denver office. Additionally, this position will fill the role of a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, fulfilling project assignments, working as a key client manager, and working with the Denver team to develop new business for the firm. This position will also work with the National Engineering Directors to recruit and retain staff and participate in strategic planning for the firm-wide engineering team. The ideal candidate will have expertise specifically in the design of acute and non-acute healthcare design projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the engineering staff in executing successful projects to deliver a high-quality experience and product for staff, clients, and project stakeholders.
Monitor and manage the engineering manpower loading to ensure effective distribution of workload among the engineering direct report staff.
Work with the Denver team to develop new business and client relationships in the local market area and participate in national pursuits as needed.
Work closely with clients to maintain long-term relationships.
Work with the Regional Director to develop project fees, contract terms, and ensure compliance.
Work with the National Engineering Directors to recruit staff and fulfill the firm-wide engineering team staffing strategy.
Assume project roles as needed that best support the client, the project, and the team. The expectation is that this position is a key client manager for engineering primarily but must be open to variation to support specific project and office needs.
Work closely with Denver’s multi-disciplinary team to support office culture, office goals, and organizational goals.
Responsible for performance management for all engineering direct reports. Meet with each direct report employee annually to set employee goals and develop a strategy to assist each employee in the attainment of those goals.
Provide input based on employee performance to determine appropriate compensation levels.
Manage and oversee the use of BSA’s project management and QA/QC tools.
Provide QA/QC reviews at major project milestones and as part of BSA’s in-process-quality control system.
Review and approve time records and expense reports for engineering direct report staff.
Develop detailed knowledge about BSA’s full suite of services and leverage those services to benefit our clients.
Engage in communicating across all departments for the purpose of continuous improvement in working across disciplines and offices.
Represent company positively to clients, peer organizations, and business associates.

Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps; AutoCAD, Revit, 3D CAD, BIM system experience, and Deltek Vision.
